North Shore Hospital

Several contracts have been under taken here for different main contractors over the years.

Stage 1 North Shore Hospital Refurbishment

Substantial re-development and new build of the existing hospital including departments and areas such as Pathology Laboratory, Diabetes Clinic, Pharmacy, Nutrition & Store, Lower Ground Floor and Mental and District Health and ancillary areas.

We dealt with decanting issues in a working hospital, value engineered anti-xray materials and provided cost management of split construction packages for a large phased project.

Stage 2 North Shore Hospital Refurbishment

This project included a new Emergency Department, Retail Pharmacy & Café, MRI Platform building, Front of House and Dayward areas, façade and external works.

QS duties included dealing with decanting issues in a working hospital, value engineering anti-xray detail and materials, tendering, subcontract placement, cost management of split construction packages, and final accounts. Creation of site filing and document distribution system and plant hire monitoring system for large phased project.

L1 HDU and ICU areas, L2 Podium, L3 Podium contracts were a mixture of new build and renovation all the while co-ordinating with a working hospital. QS budgeting and understanding the intricacies of working around the public, restricted areas and access, noise control and clean.

Working with interesting subcontracts such as GRC panels, transpace sliding doors, specialist services such as Nurse Call and Lamson stations. Works also included constructing a new chapel with feature stained glass windows.
