Jervois & Lawrence Herne Bay

Jervois & Lawrence comprises 28 high-end apartments constructed during a period of severe international supply-chain disruption. Shutdowns across seven countries necessitated creative procurement strategies and meticulous scheduling.

All bespoke Italian joinery was manufactured and shipped prior to framing, so wall set-outs were coordinated to millimetre precision around the cabinetry packages. Four specialist carpentry crews worked concurrently on separate scopes to meet programme.

Working for the main contractor we provided full QS services – estimating, tendering, negotiation, advanced procurement and extensive variation management – as well as elements of acoustic QA and project management. The building achieved Auckland's highest apartment acoustic test result and, reflecting its quality, one of the city's highest $/m² rates. Value: $38 million.
